Awesome video illuminating the trials of exoplanet science before its successes. Exoplanet science wasn't always the sexiest discipline and really gained acceptance after the first ~1000 planets that were confirmed. Amazingly enough that was before the Kepler space telescope. For those keen on the future of exoplanets, look at the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) or James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
